Janssen/Edlbeck Wedding

In the Fall of 2012 the Barnsite Retreat and Events Center was literally transformed for the stunning Janssen/Edlbeck Wedding. The bride, groom, family and wedding party were amazing with their energy and ideas - truly creating a rustic, chic, elegant and FUN "barn wedding" - and the end result was just gorgeous!  They, along with the guests and caterers used the residence, gallery, great room and balcony area for the reception. (The lounge was not yet built.)  The ceremony was outdoors under the giant willow tree.  Dinner for over 100 guests was setup in the gallery area, and guests danced through the evening in the great room with cathedral ceiling above.  Charming "barn" touches included a handwritten chalkboard menu of bar offerings, popcorn from an aluminum bushel barrel, and wooden shingles directing guests to "reception," "ceremony," "dining," and elsewhere!  (also used to identify "Mr." and "Mrs." and during the ceremony: "Here comes the bride"!)

Sanders/Arnold Wedding

Summer!  July 2013!  Sanders-Arnold wedding!  Door County bride and groom had a vision of using the Barnsite Retreat and Events Center space in a totally different way! They chose the small fruit tree orchard in the back of the Barn for the setting of their outdoor ceremony - taking advantage of the dappled shade from above branches with seating on cloth covered haybales, and glimpses of Lake Michigan behind the small homemade gazebo they constructed.  Ornaments hung from nearby trees and rows of white flower petals defined the aisle.  Photographers took advantage of the farm tractor parked in a corner of the yard, and the fenced-in vegetable garden to capture guests enjoying the grounds.  This wedding was the first to utilize the newly built lounge and bar.  Amazingly kind people were part of a truly wonderful wedding.

Boockmeier/Krohn Wedding

Friends and family spent the afternoon at the Barnsite for the event of this simple and beautiful ceremony followed by cocktails and hors d'ouvres before continuing on to Green Bay for the full dining and reception.  Again, the weather was kind and the bride, bridesmaids, dresses, flowers, groom and groomsmen were as fabulous as the day.

Christensen/Baribeau Wedding

This Luxemberg bride and groom decided to make the Barnsite the setting for their end of summer wedding and were rewarded with absolutely stunning weather to help "decorate" their day... Mother Nature seemingly giving FULL approval and a gentle breeze as her gift to the couple and all who attended.  The brillaint blue sky set off the sapphire and deep blues of the Matron of Honor's dress, the indoor and outdoor decor and unique florals.  Simple touches with glass beads, colorful fabrics and a bit of silver sparkle complimented the rustic, informal barn atmosphere.  The bride, her sister (and teeny tiny niece!) were a perfect team in putting together this elegant and simple affair.  Not even the officiant running (just a wee bit - okay - quite a bit) late could disrupt the beauty of the day, and the joy of the bride and groom - and the family and friends.

Fuentez-Singh Wedding

Friday, June 13, 2014 saw the arrival of the friends and family of Bianca and Jaren for the event of their June 14th wedding.  Their army of workers scrambled all about the Barnsite spaces unloading, organizing, cooking, decorating - and having a good time.  Smiles and friendly banter were everywhere to be found as they transformed the events spaces into fairy-tale worthy rooms.  WIth white lace on tables, sheer gauze fabrics gently blowing from the wooden rafters and posts, "clothesline" strings of photos and styled chalkboard signs adding just the right touches of whimsy, it was truly a breathtaking site.  What was heard from every loved one was "this is just what she's always wanted" and "this is her dream" as they basked in the joy of knowing how happy the bride was.  When the groom teared up with emotion as he saw her approaching up the aisle, there was not a dry eye in the place.  Gorgeous Bianca and handsome Jaren were quite the hit at the Barnsite -as was their age-old rivalry of Packers fan (Bianca) and Bears fan (Jaren).  Here are some of their pix!

Davis/Gransee Wedding -

a study in gray, green and white...

...those were the chosen colors for this June wedding.  And look how the weather cooperated  with and complimented that color scheme!  A white sky; a soft gray fog; and vibrant green lawn, foliage and trees made the setting and all the decorative touches (including green lighting indoors!) look and feel so unique and, well, really just perfect!  See photos below in slideshow....
